How to make money living in a Van or RV motorhome

PART 1 -  INCOME NOW- NOT LATER

This part of the website does not have a Youtube video because we like to publish things that we have tried and can honestly say worked for us and we have not fully finished our research.

Our income generating ideas are different from other youtube videos. We have a different take on things. Many experts or gurus out there talk about Passive Internet revenue  (meaning you get paid when people watch the ads on your videos, or putting affiliate links in your video descriptions or website etc...)

The idea of Passive revenue is great, but what many people fail to mention is the amount of time it even takes to make a few dollars.  You have to give yourself time and build up a brand or audience to have a steady stream of people purchasing the stuff you recommend as well as have a decent commision structure in order to really live from it.

Now, we love the idea of creating multiple streams of passive income, our reality at the date of writing this first article is that we are only 6 rv videos in and 5 to 6 health videos.

We are in the process of applying to the Amazon affiliates program. But to even get accepted as an Amazon affiliate  it made take up to 3 months.

We are health coaches and we are looking at how to move some of our existing clients to a digital format, but this is not necessarily very easy as Christina is a massage therapist and Naturopath and well, therapeutic massages can not really be delivered digitally.

With the obstacles being laid out for us, we took a different approach. How can we find multiple side hustles that we could get paid American money which could then add up to a reasonable income  for us,

WE HAVE CERTAIN STANDARDS:

  • It had to only need an internet connection and newer laptop computer, no phone needed.
  •  It had to pay us weekly via Paypal or a secure provider.
  •  It had to have flexible work hours, meaning we didn't have to work 3 hours in a row or on specific days etc..
  • It had to pay us more that an average of 15$ US an hour
  • The work and opportunities had to be relatively consistent
  • We had to enjoy the work somewhat

We watched sooooo many Youtube Videos, searched the internet and so much more. At first we thought maybe we could write health articles or teach English as a second language. But both opportunities had limits.

The Health writing opportunities did not offer us revenue  consistency or even our desired 15$ US per hour. So that was removed from our list of side hustles.

Teaching English as a second language offered us up to 22$ US per hour but it locked us in to working early in the morning  or very late evening. This did not suit us. So what in  the world was left. Then we found it, user testing contracts and multiple survey jobs.

I know, I know, Survey taking, you can not earn an income from that... keep your minds open.

First off, surveys are not our primary source of Digital income. But user testing can bring in some interesting flexible income. You have to find the right places to sign up for. You also must sign up to multiple reputable companies, because they often offer only 5 to 10 jobs a week. Each job ranging from 5$ US for 5-8 min job to 90$ US for much longer website and app testing. So by finding 3 to 5 different legitimate companies and using them, all you can accumulate anywhere from a 150$ a week to maybe even 400$ US a week. Add some side survey work and you could have a nice weekly income while you develop your passive sources. For us, the flexibility of this work allows us to develop this income source around our current live health practice.

What is User testing, it is pretty simple. You sign up to a company and they tell you what they want you to test on a website or app. You record experience on your computer or phone screen while you comment verbally concerning your findings. The more you describe your comments and the more advanced your English skills the better. Once that is done you send your video to the company, they verify it and you often get paid a week to ten days later via paypal or secured provider.

I understand you are still trading time for money, but that money is guaranteed and earning it is pretty flexible. You become a small business- contractor and you can deduct everything you use to produce that income from your taxes. From your computer to your internet connection,  etc...

For us this option looks to be a nice hustle that can develop into a decently stable income for us both as we develop our "passive income" sources. We will give you reviews of each company as we sign up with them and how we rate them.

Stay tuned for our official video on: making money while living in a Van. As our business and experience develops so will our posts.

Our next post will be about our first User testing company.
